Cove

The Cove is a secluded bay in the southeast area of Club Penguin Island. The only permanent room which can be entered from the Cove is the Forest. Penguins can play Catchin' Waves by entering the Surf shack near the shoreline. Additionally, surfboards can be purchased by clicking the Game Upgrades icon in the bottom right corner. Players can interact with the Binoculars hanging on the Lifeguard Chair to view the ocean and horizon.

When Captain Crimson visits the island, The Dark Cave can be accessed from here.

History[]

The Cove was released on February 5, 2023, following the opening of Club Penguin Journey. On August 2, 2023, the ability to view through the binoculars was added.

On September 16, 2024, Captain Crimson made his first visit to the island, opening the entrance to The Dark Cave for the first time. It is accessed through a hole in the wall in the back, taking the place of some trees and rocks.

Parties[]

During the Beta Party, the Cove was decorated with white and lavender banners, balloons, fences, and towels. The umbrella was also decorated with the same colors.
During the St. Patrick's Day Party 2023, various objects turned green, such as the snow, fire, and life tube. There were clover streamers hanging from the cliffside, and the umbrella's colors turned green and yellow. The surf shack turned into a giant pot of gold, and a rainbow could be seen in the background.
During the April Fools Party 2023, the Cove featured banners and signs with silly words on them, as well as some boxes. The surf shack was wearing a jester hat and red sunglasses.
During the Puffle Party 2023, the Cove became the hub for the Red Puffle. It was decorated with pirate flags, surfboards, red streamers and balloons, and a raft in the water. The surf shack became a pirate ship with a cannon.
During the Western Party 2023, the Cove was decorated with cactuses and hay bales, and there was a rock pit that could be used to make a fireplace. The surf shack turned into a giant cactus.
During the Card-Jitsu Party 2023, the Cove turned into a zen garden with a pond and cherry blossoms. Most of the Cove's features turned into cherry hardwood structures. The fireplace was replaced with a fountain, benches, and a blue parasol.
During the Submarine Party, the Cove featured various tidal pools with starfish, crabs, shells, algae, and moss.
During The Fair 2023, the Cove was decorated with fair-themed fences, banners, and confetti. The stairs leading to the Cove featured the same colors. The surf shack had a sign with a peach penguin surfing, and Feed-A-Puffle could be played here.
During the Halloween Party 2023, Halloween decorations were hung on the cliffside, and the fireplace became a place to tell ghost stories. Access to the water was blocked off.
During the Holiday Party 2023, the Cove became a tropical luau. There was a snowman made of sand, palm trees, penguin tikis wearing festive hats, and a tropical stage with a feast.

During the Winter Fiesta 2024, the Cove was decorated with a Spanish-style wall, palm trees, a surfboard piñata, and an arch labelled "FIESTA". The umbrella's colors were red, blue, and green. There was also a box of Mini Sombreros for penguins to pick up.
During the 1st Anniversary Party, the Cove was decorated the same way as it was during the Card-Jitsu Party 2023.
During the Pirate Party 2024, the Cove had a big waterfall and a river that flowed into the sea. The room was decoraetd with palm trees, mossy rocks, wooden surfboards, and red, white, and black balloons and streamers. The surf shack turned into a red pirate ship.
During the April Fools Party 2024, the Cove was decorated similarly to the previous year, with an added box of Swirly Glasses to obtain.
During the Medieval Party 2024, the surf shack turned into a large tree, and the surfboards had a shield pattern and medieval emblems on them. There was a tree fort beside the shack, as well as cream soda barrels, and there was a small stump with a target behind the fireplace.
During the Summer Kickoff Party, the Cove had a waterfall that flowed into a river, under a bridge. There was a beach ball in the water, and the Inflatable Duck could be picked up here.
During the Music Jam 2024, the Cove had a tropical stage with tropical instruments, and banners on the cliffside with a sign that read "It's Jamming Time!" The Blue Headphones could be picked up here, as well as the Green Glow Sticks by clicking on the green music note on the cliffside.
During Camp Penguin, the Cove featured the same waterfall from the Summer Kickoff Party. Tents were set up next to the campfire, as well as marshmallows and sticks, which gave players the Marshmallow Stick.
During The Fair 2024, the Cove was decorated similarly to the previous year.
During the Halloween Party 2024, the Cove featured spooky trees and fog. The campfire now had a large stump, and there was a Monster Catcher HQ shack in place of the lifeguard chair. A candy apple was hidden in the candy pile, as part of the Halloween Haunted Delights scavenger hunt.
During the Holiday Party 2024, the Cove was decorated similarly to the previous year.

During the Festival of Flight, the Cove was decorated with propellers, and sun and cloud decorations on the cliffside. The water area was blocked off due to the island being in flight.
During the 2nd Anniversary Party, the Cove was decorated the same way as it was during the Pirate Party 2024.
During the Puffle Party 2025, the Cove was decorated similarly to its appearance during the Puffle Party 2023.
During the April Fools Party 2025, the Cove had many doors scattered around. The logs were bendy, and the pink surfboard fell over, creating a bridge, The doors to the Tour HQ were also here, leading penguins there when entered.
During the Medieval Party 2025, the Cove was decorated similarly to the previous year.
During the Adventure Party 2025, the Cove was decorated with palm trees and jungle flora, as well as mossy rocks, a wooden deck, a small ship, and the nest of a ship tied to the surf shack. There was also a large patch of sand that penguins could dig for coins on.
During the Western Party 2025, the Cove was decorated similarly to its appearance during the Western Party 2023.
During the Card-Jitsu Fire Party, the Cove featured similar decorations as the Card-Jitsu Party 2023, but in red. The lily pads were removed, and the fountain became a regular fireplace.
During The Fair Games, the Cove was decorated similarly to the previous years.
During the Halloween Party 2025, the Cove was decorated similarly to the previous year, with an added wooden boat and oar in the water. Rockhopper's ghost appeared here every second hour, telling ghost stories.
During the Holiday Jam, the Cove was decorated similarly to the previous years, with a box of Holi-leis available for penguins to pick up.

During the Winter Party 2026, the Cove was designed as a beach party, with a banner joking about the climate differences in hemispheres stating "Southern Hemisphere Summer Party".
During the 3rd Anniversary Party, the Cove was decorated the same way as it was during the Halloween Party 2025.

Mini-Events[]

During the Leprechaun Leftovers Scavenger Hunt 2023, there was a golden clover hiding behind one of the logs.

During the Easter Scavenger Hunt 2025, an Easter egg was hidden on top of the surf shack.
During Sensei's Fire Scavenger Hunt, the sky turned orange, changing the light of the room. A burning twig from the campfire was one of the items needed for the scavenger hunt.
During the Club Penguin 20th Anniversary Celebration, the 2nd Year Party Hat was on top of the surf shack, as part of the Party Hat Scavenger Hunt.
